Since like... in a million years already, before I BloG. So many things that I have been through in the business world that I think should be shared with the world.

When you are capable, many business people tend to take advantage on you.

My job requires to be a sponsorship specialist, many perspective from colleges to high schools, universities, private companies and even cooperate companies seeking for my consultation. The great part is, they do not pay for my salary. I obtain my own salary. How much sponsorship I got for them, some of the profits gets back to me. Just to share on some parts about sponsorships, YOUTHS especially, First thing first,

YOU NEED TO BE BRAVE How can you get sponsorships for your own project if you cant TALK ?!? Work on that. Learn how to communicate with adults. Get the KEY WORDS right. Talk with facts. It is important for you to understand your own project 'inside-out'
USE THE TELEMARKETING STRATEGY You have to follow-up from time to time about your sponsorships. Call your sponsors often, but not to the edge of 'bugging' them. Give them DEADLINES. Some sponsors would want to participate, BUT they are taking their own sweet time. So check on that.
NO BUDGET FOR FOLLOW UPS? Use the free email system ! C'mon, you have free gmail, yahoo, hotmail... USE THEM.. attached your proposal. ITS FREE. Make sure in the first few lines of your email is catchy enough. Such as. "Our event could get the eyes of 10,000 youths, therefore we invite your company to venture in with us". I believe that line is suficient enough for them to do the 'rest'
PROPOSALS?? HOW?? As far as my experience... Sponsors usually, don't have the so call 'time' to read through your proposal [if it is written with long essays] even though you have good English. They seek for 'pictures-speak-a-thousand-words'. Enhance your proposal FIRST with your event poster. This part, I would advise you to seek for your friend who is a designer to do it.
LEAVE YOURSELF SECOND OPTIONS DO NOT ! I repeat DO NOT.. for ONCE think that when a sponsor is interested, you rely on that one. KEEP your options open. Go and seek for other brands as well for sponsorships. Go to the sponsors competitors if you have to. (We need to survive as well) take only those who offers you the BEST =)

Organizing the Penang Largest Merdeka Youth Carnival 2009 is DEFINITELY NOT EASY at all... All the travelling... All the cooperate talking, All the benefits given.. all the youths coordinating..... aLmost took ma breath away... BUT I believe all these will be beyond satisfaction once it is accomplish... with almost 100 members with me =) we believe this will work...... TOGETHER =)

Well, I went to KL just to meet up with FLYFM... and the visit was a blast! =) Let me bring u gals/guys in for a inner look... How a media company works.. So here I am at Sri Pentas.. where all media companies are situated..

So here I am , walking down the hall way.. searching for FLYFM... it is super huge inside... wow... awesome.. =) I walked pass ALL the radio stations.. and manage to get a snap shot of the DJs doing LIVE in front of me =) this is One FM by the way...

FINALLY!!! i found the place!! =) I met up with the brand executive of FlyFm.. Nice girl.. So I waited for her to get back to me on our carnival.. This is their office =)

She was talking to her marketing director... So I was jux ... u know.. kinda staring around and observing the inner view =) and the coolest thing i spot were............ THESE!!!!!!!! This is what i got from several sites...... Now using it!! vewweee effectivee... should try if u r facing any stress in work or studies... =)

First, recognize stress

Stress symptoms include mental, social, and physical manifestations. These include exhaustion, loss of/increased appetite, headaches, crying, sleeplessness, and oversleeping. Escape through alcohol, drugs, or other compulsive behavior are often indications. Feelings of alarm, frustration, or apathy may accompany stress.

If you feel that stress is affecting your studies,a first option is to seek help through your educational counseling center.

Stress Management is the ability to maintain control when situations, people, and events make excessive demands. What you can do to manage your stress? What are some strategies

Look around See if there really is something you can change or control in the situation (in my case find other sponsors lohz... if other sponsor rejects)

Set realistic goals for yourself Reduce the number of events going on in your life and you may reduce the circuit overload (I let go of the event a little and focus on my studies)

Exercise in stress reduction through project management/prioritizing (BADMINTON!)

Remove yourself from the stressful situation Give yourself a break if only for a few moments (After talking to "some ppl" who is damn arrogant.. I jux quit by givin myself a break)

Don't overwhelm yourself by fretting about your entire workload. Handle each task as it comes, or selectively deal with matters in some priority (Study 1st!!! Event leave it after exams)

Don't sweat the small stuff Try to prioritize a few truly important things and let the rest slide (Doesnt matter if sponsors turn down....dont need them anyways..)

Learn how to best relax yourself Meditation and breathing exercises have been proven to be very effective in controlling stress. Practice clearing your mind of disturbing thoughts. ( welll... I BLOG!!! XD)

Selectively change the way you react,but not too much at one time. Focus on one troublesome thing and manage your reactions to it/him/her (I wish she could understan more...*sigh)

Change the way you see your situation; seek alternative viewpointsStress is a reaction to events and problems, and you can lock yourself in to one way of viewing your situation. Seek an outside perspective of the situation, compare it with yours. and perhaps lessen your reaction to these conditions. (Seek for other sponsors lohz.....)

Avoid extreme reactions;Why hate when a little dislike will do? Why generate anxiety when you can be nervous? Why rage when anger will do the job? Why be depressed when you can just be sad? (HATE it when sponsors rejects without readin proposal! F***K up nya..... but wad to do...oh wellll)

Do something for others to help get your mind off your (Help mom wash car and wash plates XD)

Get enough sleep Lack of rest just aggravates stress (trying.....)

Work off stress with physical activity, whether it's jogging, tennis, gardening

Avoid self-medication or escape Alcohol and drugs can mask stress. They don't help deal with the problems (yea sure.... alchohol is BITTER!!! how can ppl stand it anyways??)

Begin to manage the effects of stress This is a long range strategy of adapting to your situation, and the effects of stress in your life. Try to isolate and work with one "effect" at a time. Don't overwhelm yourself. for example, if you are not sleeping well, seek help on this one problem (I talk to my mom bout it....love u mummy)

Try to "use" stress If you can't remedy, nor escape from, what is bothering you, flow with it and try to use it in a productive way ( hope everyone who is working with me... HELPS)

Try to be positive Give yourself messages as to how well you can cope rather than how horrible everything is going to be. "Stress can actually help memory, provided it is short-term and not too severe. Stress causes more glucose to be delivered to the brain, which makes more energy available to neurons. This, in turn, enhances memory formation and retrieval. On the other hand, if stress is prolonged, it can impede the glucose delivery and disrupt memory." Most importantly, if stress is putting you in an unmanageable state or interfering with your schoolwork, social and/or work life, seek professional help at your school counseling center

This is like the 7th event I have hosted for such a big scale =) Awesome working with the Gossip Crew.. a lot of exposure and definitely public relation... This is Day 1... Rehearsal day.. Went there for like 6hours... Practically did nothing ... but help out the crew by providing their needs... and have been observing how they actually carried out the whole thingy..=) Learnt from their conversation that it was difficult to seek sponsors and wasted a lot of time.... begging and running around... Jazzada have an impact there in the future...

We wil make this short and brief =) Gonna make this post worth reading to you.. Oh yea.. this is specially to those Youths or young entrepreneurs in Malaysia (if u r reading frm the other side of the world.. Drop out the Malaysian Tax and put in your own country's) Lets start..What must u consider be4 organizing an event? Concerts esspecially. =) Lets take a quick review.. BUTGET

PPM(Public Performance Malaysia)

Contingencies ( Emergency Use $ )
Police Permit ( For Gathering )
Hall Rental
Rehearsal These are the few things you need to consider before anything gets started. Once you have the budget availability, then you can carry out what ever event you wanna go with.. For the hall rental, choose a place where you are comfortable with ( considering how many audiences you are targettin, how big is your concert ) =) Remember to always have a company to support you .. with their registeration number (if u happen to be below 21 or do not have a company to refer to) Remember to always always PLAN AHEAD!!! you dun wanna be screwing up your own event last minute.. Put yourself in a situation when EVERYTHIN GOES WRONG... then you would know wad to do..
ITINARARY.. this is the most important part of all... You must plan which performer will be performing 1st and who is the last... The timeline.. and how is it done.. Sound System and lighting.. Remember to always have at least 5 practices b4 moving on to the stage =)
Finally Sponsors... I have several people actually coming up to me and asked about sponsorship.. This is what I will answer them... DO NOT ASK FOR MONEY!!! this is definitely a NO NO NO to any sponsors.... (unless the sponsor happens to know you / u have connections with them) Ask for something that u require... Such as Back Drop ( Which will cost almost RM 1000 ) and that can save u an amount of money already... Or you could ask for decoration wise... ( Buntings / Banners )... In return you will give them complimentary seats, having the company's name / logo on the sponsored things, thank you announcements, anything that can deal with publicity benefits =)
You can also advertise your event for free in STAR newspaper at the what's up column.. Write a small article on your event and fax it to 04-6473396.. Find low budgetted ways to advertise your event.. Photostated Flyers or spread by mouth... Make sure u have a team to support you too =)

I had an idea ... A little idea.. Didn't know if it could work.. and POP!! there it is... the word "youthsays" .. Special thanks to Khailee and Joel.. I finally had the chance to show off my entrepreneur skill in the cooperate world.. Being a part of the team now.. Organizing an Event to bring youths from Penang to Kuala Lumpur based on a sponsorship.. I always thought that asking for a sponsor was EASY... but not now anymore... There were TONNES of documentation work to be done.. That include itenarary,budget,benefits to the sponsors,confirmtion letter, assign letter and bla bla bla... the list goes on.. and did i mention this was only the first part?????? Once documentation is done, it will be send to be approved by Joel Neoh the project director of youth Malaysia then only can i assign it to the sponsors... Well, anyhow.. I enjoyed my job.. being able to organiz and all.. Sounds pretty cool and HUGE to me.. **Proud Xp hehehe... Today is the day that I got all the documentation work done.. What is next???? Face-to-Face with BIG people.. managers and principles... **shiverss... and i hope everything works... =) Will keep this blog updated!!...

On 23rd October 2008, a business conference was held in Equatorial hotel. I was assign as the organizing member to host this event. I woke up early in the morning at 5 am for this... Got there around 6:45am. We set up everything ..

We also arrange the momentos for the VVIPs, VIPs and speakers... The hotel is amazing!! =)

We also counted the chairs... 130 guests, 40 press conference and around 30 VIPs and reserved seats... After we set up and recheck everything.. Finally we got to our place and waited for the guest to come =) Soon, all the VIPs and the guests arrived!!! =) All of them are formally dressed and they look AWESOME XD!!! well, i dun look too bad myself either... aahahahahahhahah... LIM GUAN ENG!!! =) HIS SPEACH WAS MARVELLOUS!!! very YENG and INTERESTING!! =) Let me share with you what he talked about in the business conference...

I get really infuriated with it. Guess that is jux simply what defines me X) I got a crazy crave over ORANGE CoLoUrS . I love anythin that has itz colour. It's an energetic colour and I think it suits me perfectly well =) My style, my personality and moves...hell yea [PeaCE] X)

Bein in KDU College Penang Campus, March 2008 intake, really taught me a great deal of things. I met so many new people in my life and i learnt so much. Student Council, Basketball and Badminton are the clubs that im most active in. Not to mention computer club and anime manga too.

From student Council, I learnt to organize, design posters (Feels great to have your masterpiece all over the college), management(having 45people to coordinate during KDU 25th Anniverssary Gradball Night for being the project manager and the chairman), making videos ( KDU Idol whole programme ), and producing slide shows viewed by hundreds of students!!!

GOD thank you for that... Yet, getting four flat 'A's for ma diploma in computer science.. Life seems so perfect at this moment.. As for basketball, elected as the secretary and Badminton, the only female player on the team. Everything was so good and awesome.. till.... one day..... CRACK!!!!!! OUCH!!!!! I TORE MY LIGAMENT AGAIN!!!! Earning the name of " Penang State Player " marked a scar on me. Many players are dying to get to the state team... But the story behind it.. No one will know the pain... the suffering that i gotta go thru. Even Lee Chong Wei said that to be the best you gotta know the slogan "no pain no gain".. I jux smiled when he said that.. Well, moanin over the pain ain't gonna take me any further... So i decided to jux relax.. Give myself some time off sports and landed right here =) my blog.. A place for me to complain emotional breakdowns here. Well well.. thanks for reading. This is MY LIFE and this is **What DEfineS me =)

Coolness. .First time trying out blogging.. Hope it ain't tat late =) Well here goes. . THIS is me. . People use to call me the "crazy" fellow ..or. . more appropriate have the sense of "humour". HAahahHAha. Oh well, I find LIFE as an interesting piece of art work, where u spent most of your time cultivating it and molding it into a desire of yours. Filling it with wonders and joyful colours. . SO, The point is. . Why Frown when you get to SMILE??!!
